Understanding your role as parent to an aspiring young boxer is essential to supporting your child’s success. Children quickly pick up on conflict and tension between parent and coach, and receiving mixed messages on their progress and performance can hamper their ability to improve. Instead, by working together, you can foster an environment which helps your child thrive.

This course will provide an introduction to what boxing really is, what your child can get from boxing, and your role in facilitating your child’s success. While the role of teaching your child to box should be left to your child’s qualified boxing coach, there is no shortage of tasks necessary to give your child the optimal chance of success – from ensuring your child is properly fuelled for training through to how you talk to your child about boxing, there are plenty of aspects where your actions make a difference to your child’s progress. Over the coming lessons, you will learn more about how to excel in this role.
